The Ritz needs your help! We need you to help convince City Council to keep PATCH on the Bond 2008 budget for $500,000! The Ritz will be a vital source of economic development and will improve Downtown. Can the City risk NOT supporting The Ritz?

Public comment usually starts at noon or slightly earlier. You must sign up by approximately 11:45 to speak during public comment (3 minute limit). Sign up sheet is on the table on the left as you enter Council Chambers.

Bring your cameras and tape recorders! Join the Gulf Coast Ghost Hunters Association and participate in an actual investigation of The Ritz Theatre.
Who is the woman that has been seen walking in the downstairs seating area? Could this be the restless spirit of the woman that was rumored to be murdered by her jealous boyfriend? Could the unexpained activity be the spirits of performers past? Please join us as we try to answer these questions.
This is an event that we can all be proud of. 100% of the proceeds benefit the renovation of the Ritz Theatre. Don't forget your flashlights!

Corpus Christi Festival of the Arts

PATCH will be selling beverages all day on Saturday and Sunday in the North and South parking lots near the events. Buy a drink and support The Ritz! All money goes toward The Ritz Restoration!
Celebrate the sixth annual Corpus Christi Festival
of the Arts, March 28-30. This year’s festival welcomes back Italian Street
Painting and internationally recognized guest artists Julie Kirk and Melanie
Stimmell, who will demonstrate this intriguing art on Hughes and or Brewster
Streets throughout the festival dates.
The 2008 Corpus Christi Festival of the Arts, will include participating artistic
and cultural individuals and organizations that will provide FREE entertainment
consisting of dance, theater, music, cinema, literature, folk arts, exhibit
visual arts and vend artistic crafts to the community. There will also be information
provided pertaining to the array of showcased individuals and organizations
featuring their season programs, events, and collaborative activities in
addition to Food Vendors and an Art-full KidZone. |
JUNIOR LEAGUE’S HELPING HANDS – “PATCHING UP THE RITZ”
SATURDAY, MARCH 1, 2008
RITZ THEATRE – 715 N. CHAPARRAL ST.
9:00 A.M. TO 2:30 P.M.
On Saturday, March 1, 2008, members of the Junior League of Corpus Christi, Inc. (JLCC) will once again put on their tool belts, grab their paintbrushes and bring the positive energy needed to complete their Helping Hands – “Patching Up The Ritz” Project! Beginning at 9:00 a.m. and running through 2:30 p.m., JLCC members will begin by cleaning the lobby area of the Ritz Theatre located at 715 N. Chaparral Street. In addition, the abandoned look of the building as provided by the current plywood-covered windows will be replaced with a removable, hinged covering complete with a colorful painted mural – all designed and provided by JLCC members as a gift to the community in partnership with PATCH, Inc. As part of the JLCC’s continuing hands-on community outreach, the restoration of the Ritz Theatre falls squarely within The League’s Vision Statement: Together we will build a better future by responding to community needs, working together for positive change, and enhancing the potential of our membership.
